51. Wedding Cake
Wedding cake is not traditional at receptions as it is in North America. One of Carolyn's friends had this made as a gift for us at the reception. It is so North American that they included plastic cutlery. We ate with chopsticks throughout our trip. Nothing about weddings is really the same other than the Japanese do celebrate. For my understanding, all weddings are civil. Religious ceremonies do occur of course but, the actual marriages are licensed through a City Hall somewhere.
