40. The Honourary Consul
In Hiroshima, we needed to swear an affidavit in front of the Canadian Consul. He spent about a half hour with us. The lady beside him helped is greatly to get all the correct paperwork. She speaks English quite well. This form just tells the Japanese bureaucrats that we are legally able to marry.
