39. The Hiroshima Peace Park
In the distance is Gembaku Domu formerly the Industrial Promotion Hall. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was one of the few buildings that survived the blast. Mind you, no one survived that was in it. The bomb exploded above the city and killed 75,000 instantly. The death toll stands at 200,000 today. The peace flame will burn in the park until all nuclear bombs are destroyed.
